Bandcamp Friday has occured the first Friday of the month since the Covid lockdowns of 2020. What happens is, Bandcamp doesn’t apply their fees and the bands get the full percentage of their sales. This was a move to assist working musicians who were no longer working because venues were closed. In 2020, I sold songs on Bandcamp Friday and raised a couple hundred dollars that was donated to the Bread Of Life homeless mission in Pioneer Square, Seattle. Now nearly 2 years later, a new variant appeared and many shows are getting cancelled again and overall patronage isn’t quite back yet, so bands are still in need so Bandcamp has brought back the program for 2022.
